Mrs. Dorothy Patton Grigg, age 81 of Shelby, NC, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Thursday, July 3, 2025.
Born September 28, 1943, in Burke County, NC, Dorothy was the daughter of the late Horace Graham Patton Sr. and Florance Ellen Reed Patton and was preceded in death by her siblings, Helen Smith, Horace Patton Jr., and Robert Patton.
Dorothy is survived by her husband of 62 years, Carmie William Grigg of the home, her two daughters, Wanda Brackett (Jamie) of Shelby, NC, and April Grigg of Shelby, NC, three grandchildren, Emily Greene (Jacob) of Shelby, NC, Kayla Brackett of Shelby, NC, and Alex Brackett of Shelby, NC, her siblings, Leatha Tripp of Marion, NC, Johnny Patton (Debbie) of Marion, NC, James Patton (Mary Jane) of Taylorsville, NC, Paul Patton (Donna) of Hickory, NC, Kenneth Patton (Jean) of Glen Alpine, NC, and Steve Patton (Carolyn) of Glen Alpine, NC, a sister-in-law, Delores Patton of Nebo, NC, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Dorothy was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. She was a faithful member of Mulls Memorial Baptist Church. Dorothy enjoyed cooking, canning food, gardening, and spending time with her family and friends. She will be dearly missed by all that knew her.
A funeral service will be held at 3:00pm Thursday, July 10, 2025, at Cleveland Funeral Services conducted by Jamie Brackett. A visitation will be held from 2:00pm – 3:00pm prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Community Baptist Church.
Pallbearers are Jacob Greene, Richard Robinson, Josh Patton, Jonathan Morgan, Dallas Patton, and Pat Patton.
