Dorothy E. Holzapfel passed away peacefully at the age of 89. Dorothy was born on June 28th, 1932 to the parents of William & Amalia Rupprecht. She was a lifelong resident of Milltown, NJ. Dorothy's careers included working as a telephone operator, a homemaker, an office administrator for Underwriter's Laboratory and finally as a home health aide. She was a longtime member of the Milltown Historical Society, served as a Cub Scout den-mother, was a member of St. Paul's church, and enjoyed studying literature and poetry. Dorothy is pre-deceased by her husband Robert (d.2017) and her brother Albert Rupprecht & his wife Dorothy. Survived by her three sons, Robert & Eric of Milltown, John & his wife Angela of East Brunswick. She is also survived by her sister Anna Crisologo of Burlington, NJ. Grandchildren Kristen (Dom) DeMaio of Lakewood, CO, Rachel (Mike) Thompson of Freehold, NJ. Great-grandchildren Chase & Cameron DeMaio and Emma & Makayla Thompson. Funeral Services will be held Thursday January 13th 2022, from 4-6pm at The Crabiel Home for Funerals. Located 170 N. Main Street Milltown, NJ 08850. Dottie was one special lady. Such wonderful memories from my early childhood of her beautiful spirit and playful manner. I adored her❤

Dorothy was a an important and beloved member of the Milltown Historical Society, and we send our heartfelt condolences to all of her family. She loved decorating the museum and giving tours of the museum to the students of Joyce Kilmer School.
