Dorothy Kohlhepp Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by James A. Dyal Funeral Home on Jan. 23, 2026.
Dorothy M. Kohlhepp, 95, of North Charleston, widow of David E. Kohlhepp entered eternal rest Friday, January 23, 2026. Mrs. Kohlhepp was born November 3, 1930, in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania to the late John B, McIntosh and Florence E. Schiffer McIntosh. She was a graduate of Westinghouse High School in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. She was employed as a school secretary for the Board of Public Education of Pittsburgh in the Guidance and Child Accounting Department for over 5 years. After leaving Pennsylvania to be with her husband in the United States Air Force, she worked as a secretary for the Staff Judge Advocate at the Donaldson Air Force Base in Greenville, SC, then a secretary for the 76th Squadron at the Charleston Air Force Base, but preferred being a stay-at-home mom.

She enjoyed gardening, watching old movies from the 40's and 50's, reading mysteries, current events, and the Bible. She was a member of Peace Presbyterian Church in Goose Creek, SC.

She is survived by her devoted children: Mark D. Kohlhepp of Summerville, SC and Debby K. Mims (David) of Goose Creek, SC.

The family will celebrate the life of Mrs. Kohlhepp with a graveside service at 12:30PM, Thursday, January 29, 2026, at Dorchester Memory Gardens. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Charleston Animal Society.
