Dorothy A. (Pontarelli) LaRose, 81, passed away Friday February 9, 2024. She was the beloved wife of the late Leo P. LaRose for 49 years before his passing in 2018. Born in Providence, Dorothy was the daughter of the late Concetta (Spaziano) and the late Albert John Pontarelli.
Dorothy helped make people beautiful working as a hairstylist for more than 55 years with many lifelong clients. She was a communicant of St Philip's Church. She enjoyed spending the winter months in Florida. She also enjoyed shopping, cooking, was an avid reader and expert at solving crossword puzzles. She was immensely passionate in her hobby of sewing - particularly in artistically crafting scores of magnificent quilts. But above all, she enjoyed spending time with her loving family.
She is survived by her children Jeffrey, Kevin (Sarah), Chris and Jason (Jennifer) LaRose, her grandchildren Hannah, Olivia, Joseph, Samuel, Scarlett and Callan LaRose, and brother Frederick Pontarelli.
Her funeral will be held Tuesday February 20, 2024 at 9am from the TUCKER-QUINN Funeral Home, 643 Putnam Pike, Greenville, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10am in St. Philip Church, Greenville. Burial will be in the RI Veteran's Cemetery, Exeter. Visitation Monday 5-8pm. In lieu of flowers, donations to the American Cancer Society, PO Box 7312, Warwick, RI 02886 will be appreciated.
