Dorothy A. LoCastro, a lifelong resident of Yonkers, passed away peacefully on March 4, 2024 at the age of 86.
Dorothy was the beloved wife of the late Frank, who predeceased her in 2015. She was the loving mother of Michael (Mary Anne), Frank (Yesenia) and the late Stephen (Doreen). Cherished grandmother of Christina (Matt), Michael, Jr., Jena, Isabella, Militza, Stephen and Danielle and the adored great grandmother of Adriana. She was predeceased by her dear brother, Thomas Meehan, Jr.
Dorothy worked as a unit secretary at The Hebrew Home in Riverdale for 30 Years. She loved spending time with her family, vacationing, going to Broadway shows and shopping. She was a life long parishioner and graduate of Saint Barnabas Church and high school.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Dorothy's memory can be made to or to.
The family will be present on Thursday, March 7th from 4:00 – 8:00 PM at Ruggiero & Sons, Inc. Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 732 Yonkers Avenue, Yonkers, NY 10704. A Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, March 8th at 10:45 AM at St. Barnabas Church, 409 E. 241st Street, Bronx, NY 10470. Dorothy will then be laid to rest with her husband at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, 10 W. Stevens Avenue, Hawthorne, NY 10532.
