Dorothy Helen Loesch, age 92, of Jefferson City, Missouri, passed away peacefully on June 5, 2025, at Heisinger Bluffs, surrounded by her loving family.
Dorothy was born in Jefferson City on February 25, 1933, to the late Edward H. and Helen C. (Zimmerman) Mohr. She was baptized into the Christian faith at Trinity Lutheran Church on March 12, 1933, where she remained a devoted and active member throughout her life. She attended Trinity Lutheran School, graduated from Jefferson City High School, and continued her education at Jefferson City Junior College.
On April 22, 1956, Dorothy was united in marriage to the love of her life, Erman Loesch, at Trinity Lutheran Church. Together, they shared a deep faith and a strong commitment to their church and community. Dorothy was a longtime member of the Trinity Lutheran Women's Auxiliary and the Trinity Lutheran School Alumni Association. Her dedication to faith and education was most evident in her over 30 years of service as a Sunday School teacher, where she touched the lives of many young hearts. Dorothy had a passion for gardening and quilting.
She is survived by her nieces and nephews: Marvin Theroff, Larry Theroff, Melvin Loesch, Ruth Ann Klatt (Ron), Glenn Loesch (Carol), Carol Sue Fischer (Dale), Debbie Rodden (Brian), and Daryl Erhart (Angela); as well as 24 great-nieces and nephews; 34 great-great-nieces and nephews; and 6 great-great-great-nieces and nephews. Dorothy was preceded in death by her nieces, Majorie Loesch, Anita Theroff, Janice Theroff and Sandy Theroff; and nephew, Clyde Theroff.
Friends will be received from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. Monday, June 9, 2025, at Houser Millard Funeral Directors in Jefferson City, funeral services will follow at 2:00 p.m. with Pastor Sam Powell officiating. The burial will be at Riverview Cemetery in Jefferson City.
In lieu of flowers expressions of sympathy may be made in Dorothy's honor to the Trinity Lutheran Church-Pew Fund.
