Dorothy Mae Macek Mach
Dorothy Mae Mach, 77, of Wharton, passed away on Sunday, November 17, 2024, at her residence. She was born on September 19, 1947, in El Campo to the late Henry Ford Macek, Sr. and Selma Mae Selcer Macek.
Dorothy was raised in Wharton and graduated from Wharton High School in 1965. She later attended Wharton County Junior College. She married Bennie Mach on December 3, 1966. They enjoyed a long life of 58 years together. Dorothy worked as a bookkeeper for the family business, Dorben for many years. She enjoyed fishing, gardening, flowers, her goats and dogs. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, James and Henry (Sonny) Macek, Jr.
Dorothy is survived by her husband, Bennie Mach of Wharton, daughter, Sheila Hart and husband, Bobby of Edna, son, Benny B Mach and partner, Wayne Garafola of Baton Rouge, sisters, Janie Threet and husband, Phillip, Doris Williams, Kathy Vallet and husband, Bradley, Teresa Morrison and husband, Bruce, Jean Macek, and brother, Dean Macek, grandchildren, Cody, Tia and Desiree and great grandchildren, Adeline, Paisley and Andrew.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, November 21, 2024, after 10 am with the Funeral service starting at 12 noon at Wharton Funeral Home with burial to follow in the Garden of Memories Cemetery in El Campo.
The family wishes to express their gratitude to Angels Care Hospice for their loving care and compassion.
