Wharton Funeral Home - WhartonYolanda Ann Salinas, 70, of Boling, passed away peacefully on Sunday, October 5, 2025, at a Houston care center. She was born on June 30, 1955, in Wharton to the late Temporo and Maria Molina Aguilar.
Born and raised in Wharton County, Yolanda attended Wharton High School and dedicated her life to serving others through her work and her warm, giving spirit. Over the years, she shared her love of cooking in many kitchens throughout Wharton and Boling, including Larry’s, Hinze’s Bar-B-Q, the Boling Café, and with both Wharton ISD and Boling ISD. Her meals were always prepared with care and love, nourishing countless students, coworkers, and friends.
Yolanda enjoyed good music, westerns on TV, and the joy of visiting with friends and family. She loved to go shopping, dine out, and was known for her lively personality and social warmth.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Temporo and Maria Aguilar; and her siblings, Esperanza (Hope) Edgerton, Anita Aguilar, Cenaida Aguilar, David Aguilar, Jessie Aguilar, and Johnny Aguilar.
Yolanda is survived by her daughters, Dina Pena Davis and husband Brodie of Boling, Katherine Green and husband Jr. of South Carolina, and Jessica Gusman and husband Henry of Rosenberg; her sister, Janie Mendolia of Wharton; and her beloved grandchildren, Teagan Pesetsky, Ariel Avalos, Asia Davis, Brodie Davis III, Brice Davis, and Obadiah Davis.
Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 11, 2025, at the Chapel of Wharton Funeral Home.
