Dorothy May McMahon "Dolly" was born on May 1, 1932 in Fayetteville, West Virginia to Dove and Ruby Carte. Ruby then married Walter McKnight who raised Dorthy as his very own. Dorothy, who resided in Taylor, Michigan, passed away on July 6, 2025 at the age of 93. Dorothy is the beloved wife of the late Joseph McMahon. Loving mother of Elaine Human, Dana Lucas, Sharon Hardenburgh, Al Pieczura (Char), Stanley Pieczura (Michelle), JoAnne McMahon (Bob), and the late Timothy McMahon. Dear sister of C.D., Frank, and Norma. Dorothy is blessed with 14 Grandchildren, 9 Great Grandchildren, and 4 great-great grandchildren. Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents as well as by her siblings Marshall, Jean, Grandville, Larry and by her granddaughter Britni Lucas. She is also survived by many other loving family and friends.
Visitation Friday, July 11, 2025 from 2:00-8:00 p.m. at the Taylor Chapel of Voran Funeral Home, 23750 Goddard Road. (313) 291-1800. Funeral service Friday 6:00 p.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Taylor Animal Shelter. Please share memories and/or leave condolences on Dorothy's guestbook on her tribute wall.
