Dorothy Miller Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Wright Funeral Home on Jan. 13, 2026.
Dorothy Ann Miller, age 93, of Lawson, Missouri, passed away peacefully on Saturday, January 10, 2026, at Aspire Senior Living in Excelsior Springs, Missouri. Dorothy was born on May 10, 1932, in Meadville, Missouri, to William Eugene Callaway and Anna Elizabeth (Leppin) Callaway. She was a graduate of Meadville High School and spent her life devoted to her home and family. Dorothy was united in marriage to Forrest Dwight Miller on October 12, 1953, who preceded her in death on November 6, 2015. Together they built a family that was always the center of her life. She was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who consistently put family before all else. She enjoyed life's simple pleasures, including gardening and spending meaningful time with those she loved. In her later years, she found joy playing bingo at the nursing home. Dorothy also attended the Assembly of God Church in Lawson for several years, where she found comfort and fellowship. Dorothy is survived by her three sons: Steven Miller and wife Tammy, David Miller and wife Marti, and Darrel Miller; her grandchildren: Mark Miller and wife Rebecca, Nick O'Dell and wife Melissa, Matt Miller and wife Kristina, Chris Miller, Bryan Miller, Erin Miller, and Michael Miller; 12 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. She is also survived by her in-laws: Rick Miller and wife Betty, Delbert Miller, Shirley Courts, Carol Hardin, and Don Daughtery, as well as her nieces: Stephanie Davis, Terry Haley, and Susan Johns. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Forrest Miller; and her brother, Bob Callaway and his wife Betty. A private burial will take place in the Meadville Cemetery. Memorial contributions to the Meadville Cemetery may be left at or mailed to P.O. Box 496, Brookfield, Missouri 64628. Dorothy will be remembered for her quiet strength, her deep love for family, and the gentle care she gave throughout her life.
