Dorothy Rice Miracle went to be with the Lord on the morning of November 13, 2025. She now is with her husband of 68 years, Arthur Miracle, two of their sons, Glen and Billy Miracle, and two of their daughters, Judith Smith and Emma Miracle, waiting for her at the pearly gates of Heaven.
Born June 26, 1936, she was the youngest of six children born to Hence and Emma Holland Rice, both of whom precede her. Dorothy met her husband Arthur Miracle while at church one evening. After courting for a time, they decided each other was “the one,” and they were married in front of the Bell Theater in Pineville, KY in June of 1952, and began a long and happy life together.
She will be dearly missed and forever loved by her sons, Richard and Darrel (April) Miracle, both of Middlesboro, KY; her daughter, Debbie (Herman) North of Huber Heights, OH; as well as special daughter-in-law, Margaret Miracle, of Harrogate, TN; grandchildren, Dottie Beverly, Veronica, Herman, Brandon, and Aaron North, Junior and Mary Smith, Shannon Mills, Michael Carrol, Kayla Causey, Whitney Sweet, Dustin Witt, and Glenda, Louanne, Michael, RT, and Jesse Miracle; great-grandchildren, Ryan North, Matthew Watts, Cameron and Cayden Mills, Ava Sweet, Ian and Devin Smith, Chloe Williamson, Jacob, Lucas, and Steven Miracle, Sarai Swanson, Makyla Smith, and Jordan and Jayden Smith; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
