Dorothy Mitsch Obituary
Our beloved mother, Dorothy Drexler Mitsch, died peacefully on October 23, 2024. She was the first daughter of Anthony Drexler and Marie Pryle Drexler.
Dorothy met the love of her life, her husband John (Jack), while riding in the back of a dump truck at a church picnic. After he served in the Korean War they were married. They moved to Chicago for a short time and then spent the rest of their lives together in Allison Park. They were married for 59 years.
She was a devoted mother to three children, John (Mary), Janice Schnaufer (Gilbert) and Richard (Mary Lou). Five grandchildren, Gwen, Kristine, Jessica, John, and James. And seven great-grandchildren Caleb, Landon, Kolton, Charlotte, Harper, Elise, and Lila.
She is remembered for experiencing the most joy from simple activities with her husband, children, and grandchildren: sitting on the swing on the back patio, feeding the ducks at North Park, Easter egg hunts and playing cards at the kitchen table. Her grandchildren will remember the signature Christmas gift of Oreo Cookies that always accompanied their presents from Grams.
She will be greeted in heaven by: her parents, her husband Jack, her granddaughter Jessica, and many relatives and friends.
Visitation will be Monday 3pm to 8pm at Neely Funeral Home, 2208 Mt. Royal Blvd. Glenshaw, PA 15116. Funeral services will be Tuesday at 10:30am at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Our Lady of Perpetual Help Parish, at 2510 Middle Rd. Glenshaw, PA 15116. Everyone please meet at Church.
Donations can be made to Concordia Lutheran Ministries at Cabot, 134 Marwood Rd. Cabot, PA 16023.

Dorothy and my mom got to know each other while residents at Hampton Fields. They enjoyed talking about us "kids" and what we were up to. They showed one is never too old to make a new friend. Be at peace Dorothy, Diane and Dave H
