It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Kimberly Ann Mitsch, 64, of Cincinnati, Ohio who passed away at UC West Chester Hospital on December 16, 2024.

She was born in Covington, Kentucky in 1960 to Stephen and Kathleen Book who loved her immensely. Kim attended Dixie Heights High School. Her favorite job of all was being a mother up until recently when she gained a new title of grandma. She adored her children and grandchildren with all of her heart.

Kim met the love of her life, Dan in 1992 at Covington Landing. Excited to start their new lives together, the two were married on October 2, 1993, in Walton, Kentucky. Kim and Dan couldn’t wait to start a family of their own, and their children meant the world to them. Though she loved the beach, shopping, and hanging out with friends, Kim’s favorite role was that of a grandparent. She treasured her time with her grandkids and loved being their grandma, never failing to buy them anything or have them safely snuggled in her arms. Kim had an extraordinary bond with her dog Gracie, who was more than just a pet; she was a cherished companion and a source of comfort. Gracie was always at her side.

Kim was fortunate to have a close-knit circle of friends some of who had been by her side for over 50 years. These friendships began in childhood and blossomed through shared experiences, laughter, and unwavering support. Kim and her friends often reminisced about their school days, summer adventures, and the many milestones they celebrated together. Their bond was characterized by deep loyalty and understanding, as they weathered life’s ups and downs hand in hand. Whether it was an away trip or a spontaneous get-together, Kim's friends were always there to uplift her spirit and share in her joys. These enduring friendships played a significant role in Kim’s life, providing her with a sense of community and belonging that she cherished deeply and that kept her going through her battle with cancer.

Everyone who knew Kim knew how much she loved to shop. She could go all day driving around every corner of the tri-state area to get the best deal. She also could spend hours on the beach either reading her book in her chair or floating in the ocean.

Kim will always be remembered for her kindness and the way that she was always willing to help anyone. We will miss Kim every day. Her memory will live on in the hearts of all those who loved her.

Kim was preceded in death by her father, Stephen Book, and is survived by her mother Kathleen Book, her brother Rick (Kim) Book, her son Ryan Dreyer, her daughter Danielle Mitsch and her daughter Megan Chisholm (married to Andrew Chisholm) who is the mother of Kim’s two grandkids Heidi and Otto.

Visitation will be held Monday, December 23, 2024, at St Boniface Church 1750 Chase Ave, Cincinnati, OH 45223 from 10am until Mass of Christian Burial at 11am. Her burial will take place at Spring Grove Cemetery 4521 Spring Grove Ave, Cincinnati, OH 45232. The celebration of life will be at the St. Bernard Eagles Donations at 4815 Tower Ave, Cincinnati, OH 45217 in the lower part of the building.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions are suggested to The James at Ohio State for Sarcoma Cancer Research. https://www.giveto.osu.edu/makeagift/details/312232
