Dorothy (Markley) Morris

Dorothy Morris, age 85, passed away on October 1, 2025. Dorothy was born in Trenton, NJ. She was the youngest child in a family of twelve children. She graduated from Trenton Central High School. Dorothy was a resident of Lower Makefield Township, PA for over 50 years.

Dotty was a school bus driver for 35 years, and she worked for Pennsbury Schools for 26 years. After high school Dotty worked for NJ Bell Telephone Company until the birth of her twin sons. Dotty was a lifelong member of the Trinity United Methodist Church. She made many friends there over the years and considered them as her church family. In her retirement Dotty enjoyed spending time with her family, taking care of her dogs, taking long walks, playing the piano and listening to music.

Daughter of the late James and Jennie Markley, wife of the late James J. Morris who predeceased her in 2015, and sister of the late Tom, James, Bill, Ed, Laurence, Howard, Jack and Rich Markley. Two sisters Marie Cartledge and Elizabeth Mood.

She is survived by sons James J. Morris and Daniel T. Morris; and daughter Donna Morris; three grandsons, Daniel Morris and wife Morgan, Christopher Morris, and Robert Morris, and their mother Beth Bell; great grandchild: Charlotte; brother Robert Markley; sisters-in-law: Carole Markley, Patricia Mycock, brother-in-law: Jack Mycock; nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.

She will be remembered for her kindness and caring for others.

In keeping with Dotty's wishes funeral services will be private.

Memorial contributions would be appreciated to either the Bucks County S.P.C.A P.O. Box 277 Lahaska, PA 18931 or Samaritan's Purse P.O. Box 3000 Boone, NC 28607-3000.

Arrangements are under the care of the FitzGerald-Sommer Funeral Home 17 S. Delaware Avenue Yardley, PA 19067. Condolences for the family can be left at www.fitzgeraldsommerfuneralhome.com.
