Funeral services for Mrs. Dorothy Fay New, 93, of Chattanooga, Tenn., formerly of Anniston, will be held on Monday, September 15, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. at Anniston Memorial Funeral Home. The service will be officiated by her nephew, Rev. Daniel Harper. Visitation will be held at the funeral home one hour prior to the service. Mrs. New will be laid to rest, beside her husband, in Anniston Memorial Gardens following the service.

Mrs. New gained her eternal reward and met her Lord and Savior, face to face, on Wednesday, September 10, 2025.

Those preceding Mrs. New in death include her parents, Joseph Lawson Fulton and Ruby Love Fulton; her husband, Rev. Clifford Lee New; her daughter, Robin Pereira; two sisters, Jerry Harper Godwin and Mary Smith; and two brothers, Bobby Fulton and Billy Wayne Fulton.

Left to cherish the memory of Mrs. New are her two sons, Stephen New and Paul New (Kim); seven grandchildren, Benjamin New, Chris New, Rebecca Pereira, Jonathan Pereira, Nicholas New, Nathan New, and Noah New; two great-grandchildren, Jason New and Aiden New; her sister, Linda Phillips; a special son-in-law, Florivaldo Pereira; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Mrs. New was a member of Saks Baptist Church where she and her husband faithfully attended for many years. After Mr. New's death, Mrs. New continued to reside in Anniston. During the COVID pandemic, she moved to Chattanooga to be closer to her family and resided there until God called her home.

Mrs. New was a faithful and devoted servant of Christ. She and Clifford gave their lives on the mission field, sharing the Gospel of Christ for 38 years. Together they witnessed and ministered to the people of Congo, Africa for seven years. While in Africa they developed 13 churches. Mr. and Mrs. New then moved their ministry to Sao Paulo, Brazil continuing their work for the Lord for 31 years and developing two churches there.

To know Mrs. New was to love her and she will forever be remembered for the amazing Christian woman she was. She and her husband's mission work will be implemented in the lives of many forever.
