Dorothy N. Peacock, age 77 of Marianna, Florida, passed away Tuesday, October 21, 2025, at Jackson Hospital. She was born to Sidney and Rose Hudson Adams on November 11, 1947.

Dorothy, better known as Ms. Dot, was a lifelong resident of Marianna. Always a caregiver, she started her career at Florida State Hospital, where she worked for 30 years before retirement.  Although she had retired from the state, she continued working for what was formerly known as, "Marianna Convalescent Center". One job wasn't enough to keep her busy, so she got another job at Campbellton-Graceville Hospital. Ms. Dot stayed at Campbellton-Graceville long enough to retire, for the second time. She soon got bored with retirement and went to work at Dove Academy for a few years.

Ms. Dot started "Dot's Caring Hands" to help families who wanted to keep loved ones at home. Yet again, that was not enough to keep her busy. She jumped in with both feet when the opportunity to have a group home was presented to her. Finally, something to fill her days and then some. She truly enjoyed day-to-day interaction with the clients and listening to their stories. Ms. Dot was put on this earth to provide care, support, and love to anyone and everyone.  She lived every day with a smile that you could not miss. In the latter years, she was not as hands-on as she wished, but her days were rewarding to her. She left Peacock's Group Home with a lot of love for residents and staff.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Sidney Earl Adams and Rose Luvon Hudson Adams; and her husband, Adam Ladone Peacock.

She is survived by one daughter, Toni Peacock, of Marianna; everybody's caregiver, Cee; and a full menagerie of fur babies inside and out; brothers-in-law, Jim Peacock (Donna) of Grand Ridge, Bruce Peacock (Lynn) of Sneads; sisters-in-law, Johnnie Roberts and Nellie Riley of Grand Ridge; special cousin, Sally; and numerous nieces and nephews, and so many friends who have become family.

Funeral services will be 11:00 AM, Friday, October 24, 2025, at James & Sikes Funeral Home Maddox Chapel. Interment will follow in Pinecrest Memorial Gardens with James & Sikes Funeral Home Maddo Chapel directing.

The family will receive friends from 9:30 AM until the time of service at James & Sikes Funeral Home Maddox Chapel.
