Dorothy A. Powers, 76, of New Bedford, passed away peacefully on Sunday, January 11, 2026.
Born in Acushnet, daughter of the late William and Balvina (Wrona) Powers, she lived in Acushnet and New Bedford all of her life.
Dot enjoyed trips to the casino, traveling, karaoke, painting, and spending time with her family. She worked for Acushnet Rubber Company and Design Mark as a quality control technician for many years.
Survivors include her children, Christine Demers and her husband Mike of Acushnet, David Pita of New Bedford, and Charlene Pita and her partner Jim Bennett of Sarasota, FL; her long time partner Roger Petitpas; her grandchildren, Nathan Lewis and his wife Alli, and Skylar Bennett; her great-grandchildren, Xander and Olivia; her cousin Linda Lapierre who was like a sister to her; her former husband Norman Slowik; and many Godchildren, cousins and extended family members.
She is predeceased by her former husband Fernando "Fred" Pita.
According to her wishes, a Celebration of Life will be held in the future.
