"I will say of the Lord, 'He is my refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust.'"
- Psalm 91:2

Dorothy Elizabeth Taylor was born on February 15, 1947, in Gulfport, MS, to Winnie B. Taylor. A woman of faith and devotion, Dorothy was deeply involved in her church throughout her life. She enjoyed the simple pleasures that brought her joy-playing Solitaire, working crossword puzzles, and watching Emeril Lagasse cooking shows and western movies on TV. She especially loved the music of her favorite singer, Elvis Presley. Dorothy Taylor passed away Saturday, August 23, 2025 in Gulfport, MS at the age of 78.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Winnie B. Taylor and her sister, Carrie Taylor.
Dorothy leaves to cherish her memory her son: Herbert (Melody) Taylor of Saucier, MS; her grandchildren: Shannyn Taylor, Michael Taylor, and Tamra Calvert; her great-grandchildren: Kyleigh Hill, Kade Wilson, and Kolbi Taylor; her cousins: Deloris Harris and Linda Miley; and a host of other relatives and friends who loved her dearly.
The family of Dorothy Taylor would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to the doctors and staff of Singing River Hospital Gulfport Intensive Care Unit for their care and compassion during this time.

"Even though I walk through the darkest valley, I will fear no evil, for You are with me; Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me."
- Psalm 23:4
