Dorothy Jean Watts, age 88, a resident of Southaven, Mississippi, passed away on April 10, 2025.
Dorothy Watts was born on April 23, 1936 in Waldo, Arkansas. She attended school in Arkansas and graduated from Central High School in Memphis, Tennessee. Dorothy was a secretary for the Memphis Cotton Council, Reynolds Aluminum and ALSCA St. Jude’s. She finished her career as registered nurse for Methodist Hospital in Memphis, TN. Dorothy volunteered regularly at St. Jude Children's Research Hospital with the Ladies Guild. She also volunteered with Southaven Police Department.
Dorothy is survived by her spouse, Frank Watts; children William (spouse Jeanine), Joey and Craig; half-brother, Harry Thraikill; half-sister, Joelyn Delot; grandchildren Christopher (spouse Katie) Watts; Jonathan (spouse Mary) Watts; great grandchildren Summer Grace, Dylan, Beaux, Ireland, Savannah, Tristan and Porter. And a special exchange student, Javier Muniz from Spain.
She is preceded in death by her mother, Helen Cox and grandparents Tom and Lossie Cox.
A Celebration of Life will take place at Hernando Funeral Home on Wednesday, April 16, 2025 from 6:30-7:30 pm until services at 7:30 – 8:00 pm.
In lieu of flowers please make donations to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in Dorothy Watts' name.
