Rowan James Parker, our "little red one," was born into the arms of Jesus on Monday, April 14, 2025, at 7:37pm, weighing 3 pounds 13.7 ounces, 17 inches long.
Though our baby left us before we could tell him "Good-bye," we could not be more thankful for the mercy shown on his little body, preventing him from experiencing any pain, hurt or suffering. He only knew warmth, love, and comfort. He is perfectly healed, wonderfully whole, and wholly loved, in the arms of our Heavenly Father.
The child of two musicians, Rowan loved music, often kicking to the drone of his dad's bass playing and turning flips to the sound of live worship. Rowan was named after his great-grandfather, Papa (James Parker), a man of honor, integrity, and beneficence. Rowan's parents aimed to raise Rowan into the likeness of his Papa. Though Rowan's life was brief, he was and is well-loved by those around him and was a testimony of God's faithfulness. After being told their chances of natural conception were low, the blessing of Rowan's life was tangible evidence of the miracle-working power of our Heavenly Father. We are eternally grateful for the time that we were given with Rowan.
Rowan is survived by his parents, Devin and Kaetlyn Parker, his proud big sister, Alayna Parker, his grandparents, Glenda Finn, Stephen and Nichole Warren, William "Marty" and Lena Echols, his paternal great-grandparents, James and Susan Parker, Theresa Echols, Patricia Harvell, and Patricia Warren, and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins. Rowan was preceded in death by his maternal great-grandparents Gus and Wanda (Finn) Virginis, and paternal great-grandfathers William Echols and Steve Warren.
Visitation and services will take place on Friday, April 25, 2025, at 10:00am and 11:00am, respectively, at Crossroads Church in Hernando, MS. All friends, family, and loved ones are welcome and encouraged to celebrate the life of our little boy with us. Rowan's family will then travel to Tupelo, MS for his burial, immediately following the funeral service.
In the words of Rowan's grieving mother:
"As much as I want to hold my baby just one more time, if I can't wrap my arms around him, then let it be Jesus.
If anybody is going to love him in my place, then let it be Jesus.
We love you, sweet baby, and we promise to see you so very soon." To send flowers to the family or plant a tree in memory of Rowan, please visit our floral store.
