Dorothy Mae "Dottie" Gregory Whisenant entered into the arms of Jesus on August 20, 2025 surrounded by her loving family. Services for Dorothy, 100, will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, August 23, 2025, at Lacy Funeral Home Chapel with Grant Goodman officiating. Burial will follow at Erath Gardens of Memory Cemetery. Arrangements are by Lacy Funeral Home.

Dorothy was born in Era, Texas on February 7, 1925, to Bruce Gregory and Ida Mary (Bone). She married Coy Farrel Whisenant on January 27, 1942. He preceded her in death on July 16, 2004.

Dorothy was a devoted member of Harvey Baptist Church. She loved to be outdoors. Her favorite hobbies include gardening, fishing, playing bridge and painting. Dorothy loved to travel, especially spending time on the Gulf Coast.

Survivors include children, Greg Whisenant and wife Linda of Dublin, Texas, Cathy Gregory of Dublin, Texas, Leslie Whisenant and wife Zenita of Farmington, Arkansas; ten grandchildren; twelve great grandchildren; as well as two great-great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by one grandson.
