Douglas Cash "Doug" Eberhart February 19, 1943

– September 2, 2025, Douglas Cash "Doug" Eberhart, 82, of Bluff Dale, Texas, passed away peacefully on September 2, 2025, surrounded by the love of his family.

Services for Douglas Cash "Doug" Eberhart will be held at Bluff Dale Baptist Church on September 5, 2025, at 10 a.m. burial will follow at Wesley Chapel. Visitation will be on September 4, 2025, at Lacy Funeral Home from 6 to 8 p.m.

He was born in Austin, Texas, on February 19, 1943, Doug was the son of Cash and Jacqueline Eberhart. He was raised in Morgan Mill and Bluff Dale-two communities that would forever hold his heart-and where he would spend his life giving back.

Doug attended Tarleton State University and later earned his degree from Texas Tech University. A proud veteran, he served as a medic during the Vietnam War, where he was awarded the Purple Heart for wounds received in service to his country. Doug's dedication to helping others didn't end with his military service. From 1991 to 2008, he served as Commissioner of Precinct 3 in Erath County, where he worked with integrity, humility, and a steadfast commitment to his neighbors.

A long-standing and faithful member of Bluff Dale Baptist Church, Doug's life was guided by his strong Christian faith and his belief in serving others.

Doug was a man of many talents and an unwavering work ethic. He was a devoted farmer, raising Brangus cattle, harvesting pecans, and running a successful tree farm. He also worked in real estate, always with a keen eye for opportunity and a handshake you could trust. Doug believed in hard work, community roots, and the importance of family above all else.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Cash and Jacqueline Eberhart, and his nephew, Todd Eberhart.

Doug is survived by his loving children: daughter Jennifer Roberts; daughter Kelli Ugarte and husband Frank; and son Jeff Eberhart and wife Crystal. He was a proud grandfather to Kainen Roberts, Abby Eberhart, Isabella Ugarte, Alexandra Ugarte, Gabriella Ugarte, Ruth Reeves, and Landon & Tori Reeves, and great-grandfather to Henslee and Beckham Reeves. He is also survived by his brother, Ron Eberhart, and wife Pat, his niece Karen, nephew Kevin, stepchildren, Walter, Nikki and James and other beloved family members and friends.

Doug leaves behind a life marked by dedication-to his faith, to his family, and to the land and community he cherished.
