Dorothy N. "Dottie" Wilkinson-Mirin, 83, passed away May 30, 2024 at Phoebe Richland Health Care Center in Richlandtown, Pennsylvania.
Born December 2, 1940 in Wilkes-Barre, she was a daughter of the late Donald E. and Dorothy I. (Lohman) Wilkinson.
Dorothy was a lifelong resident of the Wyoming Valley living in Dallas, Kingston and Wilkes Barre, Pennsylvania. She moved to Hilltown in recent years to live with her daughter, Lisa. Most recently, she was a resident of The Cottage at Phoebe Richland Health Care Center where she left a lasting impression on the wonderful and caring staff with her fiery red hair and matching personality. She graduated from Kingston High School class of 1960, attended Barbizon School of Modeling and Fashion, and Tobe Coburn School of Fashion in New York City. She worked for her family's business, The Don Wilkinson Tax Collection Agency in Forty-Fort, Pennsylvania and Boscov's Department Store in Wilkes Barre, Pennsylvania. She retired from the Visiting Nurse Association of Luzerne County where she worked for several years and made many friends and memories.
She is survived and greatly missed by her daughter, Lisa A. Lokuta (John) of Hatfield; two grandchildren, Megan and Connor; her ex-husband, Mark Mirin of Ft. Lauderdale, FL; and her beloved cat, Marlon. She was preceded in death by her siblings, Donald E. Wilkinson, Jr. and Shirley Johns.
Dorothy's interment will take place privately at Fern Knoll Burial Park in Dallas, Pennsylvania.
