Dorthia Jean Begeman

Dorthia Jean Begeman was born in Trenton, Michigan on August 20, 1943 to the late William A. and Evelyn L. (Smalley) Davis. She passed away on October 27, 2024 at Bay View Gardens Assisted Living in Sebewaing, Michigan. Her husband, Theodore William Begeman preceded her in death.
She was a retired L.P.N. having worked at Fisher House in Mayville and Saginaw Veterans Hospital. She and her husband showed English Bulldogs for many years and operated the Thunder Bay Bulldog Kennel. Dorthia was an associate member of the Marine Corps League, Edson Kline VanSlyke Detachment of Bay City and the Colwood Church of Caro and was a devoted Christian during her lifetime.
Survivors include her children: Theodore W. Begeman II, Lorraine L. Fenske and Susan L. Begeman, her grandchildren: Vassana Srinual, Jennifer Seay, Meghan Fenske, Nicole Cole and Dorothie Lyon, her great grandchildren: Kaitlyn Cole, Cam Painter and Caress Painter and her brother Robert (Becky) Davis, her aunt Dolly Cone and uncle Chuck Smalley.
Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, October 30, 2024 at 11 a.m. at Penzien Steele Funeral Home, 608 N. Madison Ave., Bay City, MI 48708. Rev. Mike Reece will officiate. Private entombment will be at Indianfields Twp. Cemetery in Caro, Michigan. Visiting hours will be Wednesday from 10 a.m. until the service begins.
