Margarita Maldonado

Margarita (Garcia) Maldonado, a beloved member of her family and devoted, wife, mother, grandmother and sister, passed away gently at home surrounded by her loving family on November 19, 2025, in Bay City, Michigan. Born on October 11, 1958, in Bay City, she lived a life filled with love, laughter, and service to others.
A Memorial Service will be held at 6:00 p.m. on Monday, November 24, 2025 at Trahan Funeral Chapel. Visiting hours will be on Monday from 2:00 to 6:00 p.m.
Margarita's (Maggie) career as a Laboratory Technical Assistant at McLaren Bay Regional Hospital showcased her dedication to helping others over the 47 years worked. After years of hard work and commitment, she recently retired, leaving behind a legacy of compassion and care for her patients and colleagues alike. Her educational journey began at T.L. Handy, where she laid the foundation for a lifelong pursuit of knowledge and understanding.
A proud wife to Rodolfo "Rudy" Maldonado Sr., they celebrated their love through the 42 years, marrying on November 22, 1983. Together, they built a beautiful family, welcoming their cherished children, Rodolfo Jr. & Felicia (Bastian Doehler). Maggie was deeply proud of her role as a mother, finding joy in every moment spent with her children and embracing the special bond of grandparenthood with her grandchildren, Diamond, Ace, & an expectant grandson on the way. Their laughter and smiles were a constant source of happiness for her, brightening even the darkest days.
Maggie cherished her family dearly, and her warmth extended to her siblings: Frank (Blanca) Garcia, David (Sulema) Garcia, James Garcia, Raul (Tammie) Garcia, Rufus (Sharon) Garcia, Florentina (Arthur V.) Garcia, Patricia (John) Reminder, Elena Velasquez (Chris Daugherty), and Linda Goines. She also remembered fondly her brother-in-laws; Patrick Beson, Andy (Fee Maldonado), Jose (Irene) Maldonado, Alberto Maldonado, sister-in-laws; Mary Artibee, Rosalinda (Rodolfo) Facundo, Lisa Maldonado, LS Sayen, and many nieces & nephews creating a vast network of love and support.
Though Maggie is now reunited with her beloved parents, Rufino and Benita (Garza) Garcia, as well as her sister Victoria J. Beson and brother Jim Sayen, parent-in-laws Jose and Maria (Villegas) Maldonado, brother-in-laws, Raymond Maldonado & Jesus Maldonado, her radiant spirit continues to inspire those who knew her. She will be remembered not only for her professional contributions but also for her joyful personality. She loved spending time with her family and delighted in visits to the casino, where thrill and chance never failed to bring a twinkle to her eye.
Maggie's life was a portrait of devotion and kindness, a testament to the power of familial love, and her memory will continue to resonate in the hearts of those she touched. As we celebrate her legacy, we hold close to us the laughter, the love, and the lessons she imparted. Also, reminding us of the cherished moments and the family we build around us.
