Dorthy Ellen Weeks, 91, of Mountain Lake Park, died on Sunday, February 9, 2025, at Garrett Regional Medical Center. Born on April 19, 1933, in Terra Alta, WV, she was the daughter of the late Warren and Mildred Josephine (Lewis) McTheny.
She was a graduate of Terra Alta High School and had worked as a proof reader for the Faulkner Company. Dorothy attended the North Point Baptist Church, and Pleasant View Baptist Church in Oakland. She enjoyed camping, RV'ing, and spending the winters in Florida. Her hobbies included crafting, quilting, crocheting, and square dancing. Most of all, she loved spending time with her family.
Dorothy leaves behind five children, Sandra Martin and husband Thomas of TX, Donald Weeks and wife Tami of MD, Lionel Weeks and wife Victoria Gonce of DE, Constance Bird and husband Rodney of MD, and Fred Weeks and wife Vickie of MD; foster daughter, Valleri Tasker; grandchildren, David Martin, Chris Martin and wife Gracie, Jason Martin and wife Aukse, Lauren Azure, Donald Weeks III and wife Katie, Kate Geho and husband Corey, Rodney Bird and wife Jennifer, Matthew Bird and wife Leigh, Lionel Bird and wife Ashley, Rachel Upperman and husband Derek, Jessica Weeks, Stacy Groff and husband Galen, Stephanie Anthony and husband JR; great grandchildren, Aidan, Nora, Arthur, Calvin, Riley, Alice, Anna, Asher, Elizabeth, Ryan, Eli, Ean, Jace, Zackery, Emma, Wyatt, Brynlee, Lillian, Abagail, Jeffrey III, Zeke, and Zoey; and her loving companion, Garrett Samples of WV.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Donald M. Weeks, Sr..
Friends will be received at the C & S Fredlock Funeral Home, P.A., 21 N 2nd St., Oakland on Wednesday, February 12, 2025, from 4 to 7 PM. A funeral service will be held in the Pleasant View Baptist Church, 8931 Garrett Hwy, Oakland, on Thursday, February 13, 2025, at 11 AM with Pastor Wally Weeks officiating. Interment will follow in the Pleasant Valley Cemetery.
