Dotsie Dean Parrish was born on May 8, 1942 in Hardin County, Tennessee, the daughter of the late L.V. and Ruth Willard Rhodes Godwin.

On October 23, 1970, she was united in marriage to Terry Lee Parrish, who preceded her in death on July 29, 2019.

Dotsie was a homemaker. She was a member of New life Pentecostal Church in Savannah, Tennessee. Dotsie loved reading, listening to old county music, "Willys Roadhouse", board games and puzzles, thrift stores, and most of all spending time with her children and grandchildren. 

Dotsie Dean Parrish departed this life on March 7, 2024 in Jackson, Tennessee at the age of 81 years, 9 months, and 28 days. 

She is survived by her daughters, Melva Boyd (Gerald) of Savannah, Tennessee and Gloria Matejka (Gary) of Selmer, Tennessee; Michael Parrish (Holly) and Jeff Parrish (Sarah Kate) both of Savannah, Tennessee; sister, Vera Jean Wheat of Nashville, Tennessee; grandchildren, Jessica Parrish, Brayden Boyd, Gaven Boyd, Ashton Matejka, Kate Helen Parrish, Kourtney Parrish, Michaela Parrish, and Carsen Anderson; and great grandchildren, Annalise Parrish and Acacia Parrish. 

In addition to her parents and husband, Dotsie was preceded in death by her infant sister, Sue Nell Godwin.
