William Douglas "Doug" Cheek, age 73, of Lewisburg, Tennessee, died Saturday, April 15, 2023, in Sevier County.
He was a native of Marshall County, the son of the late Willie D. Cheek and Annie Chapman Cheek Raspberry. He was a retired salesman for WJJM and Lowe's and the owner of Shoes and More. He was a Life Member of the Lewisburg Elks Lodge #1990. Doug's passion was scholarships where he served as Scholarship Chair for many years. Doug was a past Exalted Ruler of Lewisburg Lodge #1990, a Past District Deputy for Grand Exalted Ruler and currently held the position of Esquire. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge and Westvue Church of Christ. He served his country for a number of years in the National Guard.
He was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Rebecca Davis Cheek; one son, Matt (Stephanie) Cheek of Mooresville; two sisters, Beverly Diane Cheek (David) Upchurch of Columbia, and Priscilla Jane Cheek (Ronnie) Paul of Culleoka; two grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, and cousins also survive.
Funeral services will be conducted on Thursday, April 20, 2023, at 11:00 am from the Chapel of London Funeral Home, 324 West Church Street Lewisburg, Tennessee 37091, with burial to follow in Lone Oak Cemetery.
Visitation with the family will begin on Wednesday, April 19, 2023, from 4:00 pm until 8:00 pm and will continue on Thursday, April 20th, 2023, until the funeral hour.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Tennessee Elks Benevolent Trust (TEBT), c/o Lori Nally, 50 Hidden Valley Drive, Jackson, TN 38305-9584.
