Doug L. House, a vibrant and adventurous spirit, was born on September 25, 1957, in Salina, Kansas. He left us too soon on October 21, 2025, in Aurora, Colorado, due to a sudden accident that took him away from the embrace of his beloved family and friends.

A proud veteran, Doug served honorably in the United States Army, where he showcased his athletic talents by representing his branch in wrestling. His competitive nature was evident in all aspects of his life—especially in his fervent love for sports, where his heart beat strongest for the Denver Broncos. His passion for athletics extended beyond watching games; Doug often found joy in skiing and exploring the mountains, where he felt closest to God.

Doug’s academic pursuits led him to earn a BA in chemical engineering from the Colorado School of Mines, yet it was his kind-hearted nature and infectious humor that truly defined him. Doug was a charismatic presence, capable of striking up a conversation with anyone he encountered, regardless of the setting. His spontaneous and explosive personality brought warmth and laughter into the lives of those around him. He dedicated himself to helping those less fortunate whenever he had the chance—a testament to his big heart.

Throughout his life, Doug instilled a sense of adventure in those who loved him, often traveling to various countries to witness wrestling tournaments. His journeys took him to Italy, France, and Poland, enriching his experiences and expanding the kindness in his heart.

As a devoted father, one of Doug's proudest accomplishments was raising his son, Hunter. The bond they shared was remarkable, with cherished memories built on playing baseball and spending countless hours of playing catch—a meaningful part of their relationship that strengthened their connection.

Doug is survived by his loving son, Hunter, and his sister, Brenda, along with her husband, Larry. He leaves behind extended family and friends who will remember him not only for his laughter and camaraderie but also for the indelible impact he made in their lives.

Though he has been reunited with his parents, Leland and Jackie House, in the serene embrace of eternity, Doug’s spirit will forever echo in the mountains he adored, the laughter he shared, and the love he wove into the lives of those around him. His legacy of kindness, humor, and spontaneity will remain a beacon of light for family and friends as they navigate life without him.
