Karen Elaine Cook, born on March 21, 1941, in the United States, passed away on October 20, 2025. With a life dedicated to family, education and service, Karen made significant contributions as a librarian and as a business assistant for an eye specialist. Her commitment to fostering knowledge and supporting her community was evident throughout her career.
Karen graduated high school got an associate's degree and pursued a career that allowed her to blend her love of literature with a desire to assist others. Her passion for the written word influenced countless individuals who crossed her path, leaving a lasting impact on their lives.
In her personal life, Karen was deeply devoted to her family. She is survived by her daughter, Stacey Lynn Saunders (Bob Saunders), and her sons, Robert Allen Cook (Carolyn Cook) and Wayne F. Cook (Lynn Cook). She took great pride in her grandchildren, including John Saunders (Sami Saunders), Wayne Eli Cook (Collette O'Neill), Michelle Stephens (Greg Stephens), Lynelle Brothers, Michael Brothers, Mark Scott (Jennifer Scott), and Tracey Scott. Her loving legacy continues through her great-grandchildren: Jayden Saunders, Jacob Saunders, Dakota Saunders, Shyenne Saunders, Riley Saunders, Madison Stephens, Matthew Stephens, Mitchell Stephens, Rafferty Cook, Cameron Scott, and Lexi Scott.
Karen was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Wayne Cook, with whom she shared an enduring marriage of 47 years. Their bond was a testament to love and partnership, enriching the lives of all who knew them.
A viewing/gathering to honor Karen will take place on October 27, 2025, at Newcomer Funeral Home, West Metro in Lakewood, Colorado, starting at 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. A graveside service will be held the following day, October 28, 2025, at Fort Logan National Cemetery, commencing at 11:00 a.m. (Graveside service will last 20 minutes).
Karen Elaine Cook will be remembered for her unwavering commitment to family, her love with Jesus Christ, her professional accomplishments, and her profound impact on the lives of those around her. Her spirit will continue to inspire generations to come.
