Doug Kizer Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Chiles-Laman Funeral & Cremation Services - Shawnee on Jan. 5, 2026.
Douglas Dale Kizer, 82 of Delaware, formerly of Lima, passed away peacefully on December 18, 2025, at the Ganzhorn Suites of Powell.
Doug was born November 20, 1943, in Lima, to Dale and Georgia (Stubbs) Kizer, who preceded him in death. He married the love of his life and best friend, Martha McCormick Kizer who preceded him in death on October 5, 2025.
Doug was a graduate of Elida High School, and he worked many years at Sidney Electric until his retirement in 1990. From playing bridge to the occasional trip to the casino, Doug loved spending time with Martha. He was passionate about golf and tennis, and he enjoyed watching sports. Most of all, Doug loved spending time with his family. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and brother and his family held a special place in his heart. One of his favorite places to be was by his family's side and, though we grieve his departure, we treasure our memories of his kindness and love.
Doug is survived by his sons, Craig (Maria) Kizer and Mark (Beth) Kizer; grandchildren, Mackenzie, Logan, Aidan, and Sidney Kizer; his sister, Karla and his brother, Bruce.
A Memorial Service will be held at a later date.
Memorial contributions may be made to Planned Parenthood of Greater Ohio (https://www.plannedparenthood.org/planned-parenthood-greater-ohio/get-involved-old/our-donors/how-give) in honor of Doug's generous spirit and passion for the well-being of mothers and babies, as well as public health.
Condolences may be expressed to the family at www.chiles-lamanfh.com. To plant a beautiful memorial tree in memory of Doug Kizer, please visit our Tree Store.
