Robert A. Hoffman Jr.

Robert A. "Buckeye Bob" Hoffman, Jr., age 77, passed away on January 19, 2026, at 4:50 pm, at the Mercy Health - St. Rita's Medical Center. Robert was born on August 24, 1948, in Fort Knox, KY, to the late Robert Hoffman Sr. and Betty (Robertson) McCarty.

Robert is survived by his wife, Carol "Chris" J. Hoffman of Lima, OH, his children, Christopher Hoffman of Murfreesboro, TN, Joshua (Rebecca) Hoffman of Nashville, TN, and Angela Hoffman of Houston, TX, a step-son, Michael (Christina) Zahradnik of Lima, OH, his grandchildren, Winter and Blake, his sister, Janice (Gary-d) Hofacker of Lima, Ohio. His extended family that he was very close to, includes his nephew, Jeffrey Hoffman Sr of Lima, OH, and nieces, Jennifer (Zachariah) Williams of Columbus, OH, and Betsy (Jeremy) Burke of Lima, OH. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Carla Hoffman, an infant son, Matthew Hoffman, a brother, Fredrick Hoffman, and an infant sister, Judy Hoffman.

Robert was a graduate of Shawnee High School. He then attended Nashville Auto Diesel College where he earned a master mechanics degree. Robert had worked for Waste Management in Clarksville, TN as a diesel technician retiring in 2001. Robert was a big Ohio State Buckeyes and NASCAR fan. He was an avid hunter and had been an Eagle Scout and also a Scout Master for 10 years. Robert was a life member of the Buckmaster Club, the North America Hunting Club, and the North America Fishing Club. When he was younger he enjoyed coaching football, basketball, and baseball.

There will be a Celebration of Life held on Saturday, February 7, 2026 at 2:00 pm where friends can visit from 12 noon until the service at 2:00 pm at the CHILES-LAMAN FUNERAL AND CREMATION SERVICES, SHAWNEE CHAPEL. Officiating the service will be Rev. Ted Bible. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery at a later date. Condolences may be expressed to the family at www.chiles-lamanfh.com.
