BAECHLER, Mr. Douglas-age 63, of Flint, passed away Saturday, May 4, 2024 at Ascension Genesys Hospital. Cremation has taken place.
Douglas Maurice Baechler, 63, of Flint, MI, passed away on May 4, 2024, in Grand Blanc, MI. He was born on November 7, 1960 in Arcadia, California and moved to Flint, Michigan in his early childhood. Douglas was a hardworking car mechanic for over 30 years. When he was not working on cars, you could find him diving in to his many passion projects. He was known for his easy-going nature and sense of humor. Douglas loved spending time with his granddaughter, McKenna, and his dogs, Ringo and Tito.
He is survived by his son, Douglas D. Baechler (Jamie), his daughter, Brandie L. Baechler (KT), granddaughter McKenna Baechler, sister Roxanne Tamborello-Baechler, nephews Anthony and Matthew Tamborello, lifelong friend Mark Seltzer, and former wife Eva Bunton-Baechler. Douglas was preceded in death by his father Maurice, his mother Jane, and his brother William.
Douglas will be remembered for his love for cars and problem solving anything that came his way. His family and friends will miss his funny personality and his zest for life.
Douglas is being cremated, per his wishes, and family will announce a memorial date later this summer to celebrate his life.
