Douglas Allen Barnhill, lovingly known as Doug, was born on September 21, 1960, in Columbus, Ohio. He was a vibrant spirit who touched the lives of many until his passing into Heaven on Thursday, August 14, 2025, in Rock Hill, South Carolina.
A proud graduate of Chenango Valley High School in Binghamton, New York, Doug carried with him a great sense of humor and a free spirit that endeared him to those fortunate enough to know him. He was not only kind-hearted but also musically talented, being able to play music by ear and showcasing his creativity as a self-taught computer programmer.
Doug leaves behind a loving family who will forever cherish his memory. He is survived by his devoted parents, Paul and Millie Barnhill. His legacy continues through his son, Joshua Barnhill, and his daughter, Shelby (Jamie) Sindelar. He was very close to his sister’s family, Sheri (Tim) Powell, Ryan (Rebecca) Powell, Megan Powell and Kristen Powell.
While we mourn the loss of Doug, we celebrate the light he brought into our lives. His laughter, kindness, and musical talent will resonate in our hearts forever. Friends and family are invited to honor his memory at the funeral services to be held on Saturday, August 30th at 1:00 PM at Steele Creek Church Trinity Chapel, 2009 Arrowwood Rd, Charlotte, North Carolina.
As we remember Doug, we take comfort in knowing that he has seen his faith made sight knowing he is with Jesus, his Lord and Savior.
