Douglas W. Barricklow, age 67, passed away on Sunday, July 6, 2025, at Charles and Virginia Hickman ProMedica Hospital. He was born on December 21, 1957, to Merlyn "Barry" and Vivian (Whiton) Barricklow in Adrian, Michigan.
After graduating from Adrian high school Doug first started working at the IGA store, then Johnson's Sporting Goods. Then switching his focus to manufacturing, having worked at Ace Drill, M&S, Hydro Aluminum, and Faurecia Manufacturing during the span of his working career. On September 7, 1984, in Toledo, Ohio, he married the love of his life, Cathy Barnes, she survives. Doug was an outdoorsman in every sense of the word. He loved going up north to his cabin. Doug enjoyed hunting, fishing, trapping and target shooting. He loved the thrill of riding the trails whether it was on a three-wheeler or a snowmobile. In 1996 Doug started his own business Doug's animal nuisance & damage control. Everything that going up north offered Doug loved.
Doug has left his wife, Cathy; son, Ed (Tracie) Britt; daughter, April (David) Mohr; four grandchildren; Braden Britt, Sydney Britt, Charles Mohr, Stanley Mohr and brother-in-law, Marty Barnes. Preceding him in death are his parents and son, Boone Barricklow.
The family will receive friends for visitation on Monday, July 14, 2025, from 9:00am until the Funeral Service at 12:00pm at Anderson-Marry Funeral Home, Adrian, MI. A Graveside Service at West Madison Cemetery will take place following the Funeral Service. There will be a reception following the Graveside Service at Adrian First Church of the Nazarene. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Batten Disease Foundation.
