To say we are saddened by the loss of our best friend would be an understatement. John Brady, Doug and I lived together on Carolyn Dr. in Marion Ohio. But our friendship started around 1975 when Doug and I were in the 7th AND 8TH grade, I lived down the street from John Brady, we did everything together, when I met Doug at Eber Baker he was a perfect addition to John and I's friendship, we were the 3 Amigos or the 3 Stooges, depending on who you talked to at the time. We played every sport we could and had fun doing it. Our driveway 2 vs 2 matchups were competitive to say the least, our arguments over fouls, traveling, shot selection etc... were legendary. We had a 2 vs 2 tourney in John's driveway in 1997 I think, Doug and I had gotten married, me in 87 and Doug in 93 and John stayed at that house on Carolyn Dr. We argued like we used to over every play, but, it brought us back to so many good memories in that driveway over thousands of games over the years. One of my favorite memories from that tourney, was when my brother Phil climbed up on the roof of the house with Doug and shot (3's) from up there and I think Doug must have made 6 or 7 in a row. We were cracking up that whole weekend.
We know Doug is in a better place and he's probably up there with his departed family members having a blast catching up. And I know he's trying to challenge God in a 3 point contest. I hope he doesn't trash talk him too bad.
