Douglas Anthony ""Jake"" Borello, 65, of Brackenridge, passed away peacefully at home on Friday, March 21, 2025. Born Jan. 17, 1960, in New Kensington, Jake was the cherished son of the late Robert and Sophie Jean (Rusnak) Borello. A proud 1978 graduate of Kiski Area High School, Jake devoted his career to hard work and craftsmanship, lending his talents to companies such as Bennett Supply, PGW, and Luxfer Mag Tech in Saxonburg. Jake had quiet strength, deep faith, and a generous heart. He attended ""The River 15068."" An avid outdoorsman, Jake found joy in the simple pleasures of life-gardening, hunting deer, turkey, rabbits, bears, and foraging for mushrooms. But above all, he treasured time spent with his friends and family. Jake is survived by his devoted wife of 25 years, Mary R. (Hagerman) Borello; his beloved daughter, Natalie J. (Bruce) Schneider of Lewes, DE; and his brothers, Robert S. (Betty) Borello of Holiday Park and David S. (Mary Alice) Borello of California. He is also lovingly remembered by his sisters-in-law, Deborah McGeary of Ruffsdale, Melissa Hagerman (Charlie deceased) of Scottdale, and Cathy (Jim) Pallygus of Connellsville, along with their daughter, Evelyn Pallygus; and by his brothers-in-law, Dave (Judy) Hagerman of Scottdale and Scott (Joella) Hagerman of Ruffsdale. Jake is further survived by several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews, all of whom brought joy and pride to his life. Family and friends are invited to celebrate Jake's life during visitation from 4 to 7 p.m., on Tuesday, March 25, 2025, at CURRAN-SHAFFER FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATORY INC., 100 Owens View Ave., Apollo. A second visitation will be held from 10 a.m. until the time of service at 11 a.m., Wednesday, March 26, 2025, with Pastor Dean Ward officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Jake's honor may be made to the American Cancer Society, 320 Bilmar Drive, Pittsburgh, PA 15205.
