Douglas Wayne Brooks, 77, passed away August 16, 2025. Douglas was born in Bluefield, West Virginia, to the late Harry and Wilma Brooks. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his loving wife, Linda Brooks.

Left to cherish his memory are his loving sons, Andy Brooks, Ryan Brooks, and Justin Brooks; his cherished grandchildren, Isabel, Connor, and Mason; his beloved daughters-in-law, Rebecca and Abigail; his brother, Dudley Brooks; and his sisters, Karen Ryder and Lucy Wilson.

Douglas proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. Following his service, his career took him around the world as he worked to repair and maintain ships for the US Navy. He retired as a respected steam and diesel power generation specialist after many years as a dedicated civil servant. A man of deep faith, Douglas was a devoted member of Deep Creek Baptist Church, where he found fellowship and purpose. Above all, he will be remembered for his dedication to family, his strong work ethic, and the kindness he extended to everyone he met.

The family will receive friends at Graham Funeral Home and Crematory, 1112 Kempsville Road, Chesapeake, on Saturday, August 23, 2025, from 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm. A service to celebrate his life will be held Sunday, August 24, 2025, at 3:00 pm at Deep Creek Baptist Church, 250 Mill Creek Parkway, Chesapeake, with Pastor Ernie Myers officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Douglas Wayne Brooks's name may be made to Deep Creek Baptist Church or Gideons International.
