Doug was born on January 30, 1950, in Clovis, NM, to Norvell "Bud" and Betty Carpenter. Doug grew up in Clovis where he met the love of his life Brenda Bailey. Doug and Brenda were married on June 5, 1976, in Clovis, NM and spent 49 happy years together. He served in the Army National Guard at Fort Bliss, Texas from 1969-1975. Doug was an active member of the Ranchvale Baptist Church where he served the Lord as a praise and worship leader and led the men's bible study. His love was expressed to many by being a great caretaker. He was a dedicated father and husband. Doug loved riding dirt bikes, being in the mountains, bowling, eating spicy food, and fulfilling his lifelong dream of farming. Most recently, his favorite pastime was being active in his grandchildren's lives.

Douglas is survived by his wife Brenda Carpenter, mother-in-law; Ramona "Ma" Bailey, daughter; Destiny (Josh) Banister of Katy, TX, son; Cassidy (GeNae) Carpenter of Clovis, NM, brother; Doyle Carpenter of Clovis, NM, sister; NorVella Skarda of Longview, TX, five grandchildren; Maddox, Bailey, and Kaz Carpenter, Samantha and Callie Banister, and a host of extended family.

Douglas is preceded in death by his parents; Norvell "Bud" and Betty Carpenter.

If you feel led to continue the ministry Doug was so passionate about, donations may be made at any time to Ranchvale Baptist Church in his name.
