Douglas "Doug" Conway, 91, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend, passed away peacefully on July 30, 2025, surrounded by his loving family. Doug was born in Dorchester, Massachusetts, and raised his family in South Boston. He was the lifelong love and husband of 62 years to the late Jacqueline (Sullivan) Conway, and father of Jacqueline "Ginger" and her husband James Byrne of Cohasset, the late John "Lenny" Conway and his wife Silicia Conway of Quincy, Caroleann and her husband John Snee of Marshfield. He was a proud grandfather to Brendan and his wife Charlotte Byrne, Deirdre and her husband Jack Kosak, Maggie and her husband Daniel Tobin, and John and Brigid Snee. He was also blessed with eight beloved great-grandchildren. Doug was the son of the late Edward and Catherine (McInnis) Conway. He was predeceased by his brothers Robert, Edward, and Ronald Conway. Doug was a simple man who cared deeply about the things in life that truly mattered-his family, his friends, having a good time, and the small ways he could make life easier for the people he loved. Known affectionately as "Papa," he had a quiet strength and a generous heart. He was a man of steady habits and found joy in life's routines. He loved going to the YMCA, getting his morning coffee, and reading the newspaper, especially the crossword and the sports pages. That was his kind of happiness. A lifelong sports fan, Doug loved watching games with his son Lenny, cheering on his grandkids, and catching Bruins or Red Sox games with a Heineken in hand-always sharp on sports to the very end. Doug was dependable, kind, and humble, and never asked for much. His strong work ethic, quiet presence, and love for those around him will be remembered fondly. We are so grateful for the time we had with him. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, August 5, 2025 at 10:30 a.m. in Saint Theresa Chapel, 91 Elm Street in Marshfield. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the Tunnel to Towers Foundation, online at: https://t2t.org/ For online guest book, driving directions and other helpful information please visit the website macdonaldfuneralhome.com
