Douglas Dopson Obituary
Mr. Douglas Gary “Doug” Dopson, age 54 of Macclenny, Florida passed away Sunday, August 31st after a courageous battle with cancer.
Doug was a lifelong resident of Baker County. He was a graduate of the Baker County High School Class of 1989 and was a proud member of the Wildcat Football team. Doug was a loyal employee of Ryerson for 30 years. He enjoyed riding his motorcycle, loved weightlifting and looked forward to visits from his longtime friends. Doug was an avid Florida Gator fan and a diehard Dallas Cowboys fan.
He is preceded in death by his father, Dr. Gary Dopson. Doug is survived by his loving mother, Veda Dopson: brother, Chris Dopson (Stacey): nieces, Brittnee Forbes (Hawke), Haley Stilwell (Wyatt), Sydney Thomas (Tyler), and Lexey Dopson. He is also survived by 5 great-nieces and 1 great-nephew.
A graveside funeral service to honor the life of Mr. Dopson will be held at 11 AM, Wednesday, September 3rd in Woodlawn Cemetery with Brian Dopson officiating. Guerry Forbes Funeral Home, Macclenny, FL is honored to serve the family during this time.
