Jerry Dale Milton, 81, a beloved figure in his community and a dedicated servant of the Lord, was born on August 7, 1944, in Macclenny, Florida. He passed away peacefully on January 17, 2026, in his hometown of Macclenny, after an extended illness, leaving behind a legacy of love, faith, and devotion.
A graduate of Baker County High School, he continued his education at William Carey College (now William Carey University) where he showcased his athletic talents by playing baseball and basketball. He furthered his academic journey by earning a bachelor's degree from the University of Florida.
Jerry's ministry as a pastor spanned over 50 fruitful years, during which he touched countless lives through his unwavering faith and dedication. He was not only a spiritual leader but also served as a principal and sports coach at Countryside Christian School for 15 years, nurturing young minds with his loving, gentle, and honest demeanor.
In addition to his significant contributions in ministry and education, Jerry honorably served in the United States Army, demonstrating his commitment to his country and community.
Those who knew Jerry will remember him for his calming demeanor and his relentless service to the Lord. He cherished his time outdoors, enjoying hobbies such as fishing, golfing, hunting with his sons, and attending Gator football games.
Jerry leaves behind a loving family, including his loving wife of 60 years, Norma; his sons, Mike (Elsa) Milton of Orange Park and Jonathon (Gina) Milton of Tampa; his daughter, Jana VanBlaricum; and his grandchildren, Kelsey (Caleb) McCullough, Camden VanBlaricum, Sydney Milton, Layton (Allyson) VanBlaricum, Anna VanBlaricum, Daniel Milton, Emma VanBlaricum, and great-grandson Jace Milton. He was preceded in death by his parents, Joe and Ada Milton, along with his brothers, Joe Jr. and Johnny Milton.
Family and friends are invited to pay their respects during a viewing on Saturday, January 24th, 2026, at 12:00 PM, followed by a funeral service at 1:00 PM, both to be held at Countryside Baptist Church located at 10926 NW 39th Ave, Gainesville, Florida. His services will be officiated by Bro. Wilford McCormick and assisted by Bro. Larry Finley and Bro. Billy Keith.
Jerry Dale Milton will be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather and friend—an honest man whose devotion to his faith and family will continue to inspire many. His spirit will live on in the hearts of those he touched throughout his life.
