Douglas Ezra Erickson, 71, of Owatonna, passed away on November 14, 2025, at Owatonna Hospital, surrounded by his family. He was born on June 11, 1954, in Owatonna to Ezra and Louise (Meyer) Erickson. Doug grew up in the Claremont and Blooming Prairie areas and graduated from Claremont High School in 1973.
Doug worked as a custodian at Prairie Manor Home in Blooming Prairie for 47 years. He was known for his dedication, steady work ethic, and the kindness he showed to residents and staff.
Doug enjoyed many simple pleasures throughout his life. He loved spending time with his dog, Molly, and caring for his garden, where he grew both flowers and vegetables. He liked mowing, bowling, attending the county fair, and playing on his computer. He also enjoyed doing various crafts. Above all, Doug loved spending time with his family and friends and was a loyal Minnesota Twins fan.
He is survived by his parents, Ezra and Louise; sisters Karen (Greg) Federly, Anne (Oscar) Pendleton, Chris Roeder, and Kathy (Mike) Grenier; and many nieces, nephews, great nieces, great-nephews and great-great nieces and great- great nephews.
He is preceded in death by his brother, Steven Paul, and his sister, Rene'.
Friends may greet the family on Tuesday, November 18, 2025, at the Brick-Meger Funeral Home from 4–6 PM and one hour prior to the funeral. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 AM on Wednesday, November 19, 2025, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, with Fr. Marreddy Pothireddy presiding.
