Douglas P. Fairchild

Douglas Phillip Fairchild, age 69 of Middleville passed away on April 12, 2023. Doug was born on December 10, 1953 the son of Ross and Joan (Sersen) Fairchild. A man of God, Doug was saved by the Lord and had a servant's heart. Doug was a great husband, dad, and grandpa and always made time to attend his grandkids' events. He was very athletic, working out 6 to 7 days a week, sometimes twice a day. Doug started the fitness program at Flexfab and was a skilled volleyball player who participated in the Senior Olympics. He was a talented woodworker and handyman, always eager to help anyone and with projects and make things for his neighbors and family. In his free time, Doug enjoyed genealogy and delving into family history. Doug is survived by his wife of nearly 25 years, Cathy (Ploeg) Fairchild; children: Brandon (Elizabeth) Moma, Andrea Moma, Chris Fairchild, Shawna (Shawn) Hill; grandchildren: Levi, Rylyn, Abbey, Mazey, Heidi, Carmela; siblings: Gil (Coline) Fairchild, Rich Fairchild, Jan Bolinger, Phil (Kim) Fairchild; several nieces, nephews, and in laws. Doug was preceded in death by his parents. Doug's family will receive friends 10:00 to 11:00 AM on Thursday, April 20, 2023, at Peace Church where his celebration of life will take place at 11:00 AM, Pastor Bob Hudberg officiating.
