Kaplan, La - A Mass of Christian Burial officiated by Reverend Suresh Mathangi will be held at 1:00 PM, Monday, October 6, 2025, at St. Anne Catholic Church honoring the life of Douglas James Frederick, 78, who passed away on October 2, 2025. He will be laid to rest at St. Anne Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be Derick Harrington, Gage Stelly, Mike Nunez, Randy Gaspard, Wolfy Harrington and Donald Frederick.
A visitation will take place at St. Anne Catholic Church on Monday, October 6, 2025, from 9:30 AM until 1:00 PM with a rosary being prayed at 12:00 PM.
Douglas found joy in the simple pleasures of life, especially in working cattle and caring for his horses. Doug had a special affinity for spending quality time with his great-grandchildren, showering them with love and affection, and creating memories that will be held dear in the hearts of his family.
He is survived by his four daughters, Vicky Harrington (Wolfy), Lella "Marie" Thibodeaux, Veronica "Susie" Arcement (Tony) and Marsha Stelly (Harris); his five grandchildren, Derick Harrington (Kassi), Brady Harrington, Mike Nunez (Taylor), Megan Flory (Brock), Mindy Dalebout (Carl), and Gage Stelly (Katlan); his seven great grandchildren, Colton, Grayson, Hayes, Vella, Levi, Michael and Kali; three brothers, Donald, Davis and Danny Frederick; and his sister, Ella Hargrave.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Velma G Frederick; his parents, Renis and Irene Frederick; his three siblings, Linda Faye Gaspard, Joyce Stelly and James Deno Frederick; two son-in-laws, Carol Lee Thibodeaux and Michael (Mustard) Nunez; and two grandchildren.
All funeral arrangements are being conducted by Vincent Funeral Home - Kaplan (337) 643-7276.
