Douglas Edward Koman

Douglas Edward Koman, 50, of Chartiers Township, passed away on Friday, May 30, 2025, at Allegheny General Hospital with his family by his side. He was born in Washington Hospital on August 8, 1974, a son of Edward and Donna Koman. Doug was a 1992 graduate of Chartiers-Houston High School and a 1997 graduate of West Liberty State College, where he earned a degree in criminal justice. Since 2000, he was employed at the Bradley Center, as a child development specialist. Doug was a sports enthusiast, who followed all Pittsburgh sports, especially Pitt football. He had an active social life and enjoyed spending time with his friends, whom he considered his brothers and sisters. Doug will be remembered for his sharp wit, generous heart and unwavering loyalty. Whether sharing a laugh, offering a helping hand or simply being there when it mattered most, Doug had an extraordinary way of making everyone feel valued. He is survived by his parents, Edward and Donna Koman; his sister, Nicole Whitfield (Steven); nephews, Tyler (Lauren) and Carson (Isabelle); and niece, Carly (Alex); as well as uncles, aunts and many cousins. The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. on Monday, June 2, at the Salandra Funeral and Cremation Services, Inc., Joseph P. Salandra LFD owner / supervisor, 304 West Pike Street Canonsburg, with a funeral service at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, June 3. Burial will follow at St. George Cemetery in Bridgeville.
