Douglas Lindberg Jr., age 34 of Milbank, passed away on August 21, 2023, in Sioux Falls, SD.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, August 29, 2023, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Lawrence Catholic Church in Milbank. Father Brian Eckrich will celebrate the Mass. Visitation will be held on Monday, August 28, from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at the church. A Prayer service will be held at 7:00 p.m. Visitation will continue at the church on Tuesday, one hour prior to the Mass. Burial will be at St. Lawrence Catholic Cemetery.
The service will be live streamed and recorded and viewable at www.mundwilerfuneralhome.net.
Douglas James Lindberg Jr. was born on May 3, 1989, in Minneapolis, MN. He was the son of Douglas James Lindberg and Debbie Munoz. Doug grew up in the Big Stone City area. Because he was born pre-mature, his family gave him the nickname, “Pookie,” which stuck his entire life. He attended school in Big Stone City, then graduated from Ortonville High School with the Class of 2007.
Doug made his home in Milbank and enjoyed life. He worked a variety of jobs in the area. He followed in his father’s footsteps with his love for motocross and dirt bike racing. He cherished his family and friends, and usually could be found with his grandma, Margaret. He had a kind heart and was always willing to help others.
Douglas Lindberg Jr. is survived by his son, Brady of Ortonville, MN; his father, Douglas (Samantha) Lindberg of Big Stone City, SD; his mother, Debbie Munoz of Dawson, MN; his sister, Desiree Lindberg of Big Stone City, SD; maternal grandmother, Silvana Flores of Raymond, MN; aunts, uncles, cousins, other relatives and many friends.
Doug was preceded in death by his paternal grandmother, Margaret Lindberg; paternal grandfather, Jim Lindberg; uncles: Donnie Lindberg, David Lindberg, and Rick Pies; and cousin, Makenzie Pies.
