Doug Powers passed away peacefully at The Kansas City VA on July 30th, 2025 surrounded by family.
He was born on April 13th, 1960, at Whiteman Air Force Base in Knob Noster MO. He joined the Navy in 1979 and spent over 20 years serving his country. He got to travel the world and received numerous medals and honors while serving, including the gold star.
After retiring from the Navy, he was an avid motorcycle rider and made several trips to Sturgis, as well as numerous charity rides.
Enjoyed spending his days with family and friends.
He is survived by his mother Nancy Powers of Grain Valley MO, his sister Cheryle Downen of Grain Valley, MO, his brother David Powers of Grain Valley, MO, his sister Helen Gales of Detroit, MI, son Mark Powers of Kansas City, MO and his daughter Shannon Powers of Grain Valley, MO, grandchildren Xavior Powers, Alexis Hempel, Izabelle Andresen, Zander Powers, and Harper Powers and several nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his father Charles Powers and his brother-in-law Gene Downen.
He will be cremated at Royer Funeral Home, and a celebration of Life will be scheduled for a later date.
