Douglas L. Puza, 66, of
Southwick, MA passed away at home with his wife and daughters on December 15, 2025. Doug was born on January 5, 1959, in
Westfield, MA to the late Patricia and Leonard Puza. Doug received his bachelor's degree from Westfield State University and later earned his MBA from American International College, all while working and raising his family.
Doug had an extremely successful career and was well respected in the Distribution Industry beginning at Servistar Corporation in Westfield, where he started building staging and worked his way up over the years. He retired as Vice President of Distribution from Bozzuto's Inc. in
Cheshire, CT. Both companies awarded him long lasting, meaningful friendships.
Doug and his wife Dayna shared 40 years of marriage, building a beautiful life rooted in love, respect and family. He was a devoted and loving father to their three daughters, Karly, Chelsey, and Cortney.
Doug dedicated his life to taking care of the people he loved most. He was endlessly proud of his daughters and took great joy in supporting them through school and their activities, always showing up and being fully present in every stage of their lives. No matter the task–installing floors at Cortney's dance studio, refinishing furniture with Chelsey, or a Costco run with Karly–Doug was always there for his daughters. He was the ultimate girl dad, quietly teaching life lessons through his steady presence, hard work, and unwavering support.
Summers held a special place in Doug's heart, shaped by childhood vacations in Maine that he continued to share with his wife and children. Whether it was a large family trip with the extended Puza crew, or time spent in Ogunquit, a place he and Dayna loved deeply, Doug was happiest by the water. Together with his wife, he created welcoming homes where holidays were celebrated and the door was always open to family and friends. Doug enjoyed being outdoors, exercising, working in his yard, and caring for the homes of his parents and in-laws just as naturally as his own.
Doug is survived by his wife, Dayna (Bird) Puza; his daughters, Karly Puza (Zack) of Westfield, Chelsey Puza of Dartmouth, and Cortney Woodman (Luke) of Dartmouth; and his four grandchildren who lit up his world, Hannah, Matthew, Leni and Cade. Doug also leaves his sisters, Donna Schnopp (John) and Debby Elliott (Tim), his sister in-law Donna Sperl (Pete) along with many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents Pat and Lenny, his niece Lacey Schnopp and a few of his closest friends.
A Celebration of Life will be held in the Spring for family and friends to honor Doug. In lieu of flowers, gifts may be made in Doug's memory to Dana-Farber Cancer Institute in gratitude for the care and compassion shown throughout his journey.
