Douglas Wayne Trimble, 64, of 1500 North Coalter Street in Staunton, passed away on Friday, July 28, 2023, at Augusta Health in Fishersville.

Born in Augusta County on May 21, 1959, Doug was the son of the late William Wallace, Jr. and Callie Amelia Anthony Trimble.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, John Edwin Trimble.

He is survived by an aunt, Mrs. Eunice A. Whitmore of Roanoke.

Doug was the last surviving member of his immediate family.

Doug was a lifelong member of Hebron Presbyterian Church in Staunton with roots that extended to the North Mountain and Brown's Meeting Houses. He was a member of Hebron Scout Troop #122 and received the Eagle Scout Award. He served as a church elder for four terms, having been a member of various church committees and served as the church's website administrator.

Doug graduated from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and Johns Hopkins University with his bachelor's and master's degrees in electrical engineering.

His professional experience included work at SAIC digital engineering, Shields Consulting, the Advanced Placement Computer Science Lab with the Shenandoah Valley Governor’s School in Fishersville, computer networking with Staunton City Schools, system engineering with Computer Connections, and most recently as a system engineer at WVIR-TV in Charlottesville.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, August 5, 2023, at 11:00 AM at the Hebron Presbyterian Church with the Reverend Doctor Henry D. Scoggins officiating. An inurnment will be held at Hebron Presbyterian Church Cemetery at a later date.

Memorial contributions may be made to Hebron Presbyterian Church (423 Hebron Road, Staunton, VA 24401).
